On birth control one month late negative hpt but pregnancy symptoms

I have been on the pill for several years and I take it accurately at the same time everyday. Last month I completely missed my period. I have never ever ever missed a period! Concerned I took a test which turned out negative. It is now one month later, and I still have no period. I took several hpts all came back negative. The problem is I have been starting to experience pregnancy symptoms. My breast are swollen and very sore. I have lower abdominal and lower back cramping, as well as some irregular bowel issues. I am now on my inactive pills again and there is no sign of my period coming. Can the tests be wrong ? Could I still be pregnant even though i've taken my pill correctly and the tests are negative?

I agree with Julie, something else might be going on. Stress can cause you to miss periods as well.

Sounds like something else might be going on. Go see your Dr. if you don't have one look for a Women Center in your City, , and get an Apt, and see a Dr. right away, that's always the saftest thing to do.
