What can cause slimy red spotting 1 week before my period is scheduled to start?
I have has slimy red discharge for 4 days now. My period is supposed to start in 5 days. What could be the cause? Could it be implantation? What do I look for and when should I take an in home pregnancy test?

Some women do get a brownish, pinkish, off read discharge before their period like you describe and it is their hormones causing it. But if you had unprotected sex, wait until your period is due and take a test as that is also a sign of early pregnancy. Please let me know what happens!

Thanks! My period is due this Thursday... fingers crossed. I’m cautiously optimistic since we have been trying for over 4 years now... and I’ve never had this happen before my period.
