hi,

i believe i cut myself during when i was shaving right outside my vulva and between my anus. i went to the gyno and he said he dosent believe its a herpe and said my sore looks healthy because of the skin around it. he took a sample of the "cut" and im waiting for my test results. i didnt have any of the symptoms of herpes nor do i have a red bumpS or blisterS. it is just one sore.

my bf fingered my last night and now my anus/vagina outside lip is swollen and sometimes itchy if i touch it. what should i do??

should i take a warm bath with salt water?

Uh ohhh...best not to shave at all, at least for awhile. My friend gets a sore there, on and off, for yrs now, and she used to shave, so she thinks shaving caused it, originally. The infection is either Staph or Strep ( I had one once, and my doctor took a swap, and I think it was strep aurelis, and it wasn't herpes, at all, luckily!)
At any-rate, my friends doctor told her she had "staph", and NOT to bath (especially with her usual bath oils) and to keep it very clean, in the shower. I would use a mild, fragrance free soap, like Ivory, and shower twice a day, and wear only loose fitting cotton clothes- hope this helps

Hi,

Ouch I've done that before - cut myself there!  What probably happened is the area got irritated after your boyfriend fingered you and if his hands weren't all that clean, you may have a little bacteria in there.  I would take a warm bath and try and keep the area as clean and dry as possible.   Not sure about the salt water though, it could help or irritate it more, it so that's up to you.  Maybe try to refrain from sex for a couple days in order to give it more time to heal.  Good luck to you :)
