Passing tissue and grape shaped mass

I have had alot of spotting the last few months.  Decembers period was heavy for 2 days then extremely light for 3 days.  On dec 28th I inserted a nuvaring on what I thought was my first day of my period, i ended up spotting for 3 weeks after, everyday... I removed the ring 2 days early.  I have been bleeding enough to need a pad since yesterday and today I passed a 2 inch by 2 inch flat piece of fleshy colored tissue, it was on the toilet paper when I wiped.  I then felt my cervix which felt like another fleshy bit was coming out of it, so with thumb and forefinger in me I grabbed the tissue and attached to it was a dark purple grape sized and shaped mass.  Very light cramps, all neg preg tests.  Are these just endometrial tissue,? the mass wasn't wet and slimy but solid feeling... Was it a blood clot? Could it have been blocking my cervix and causing my last period to be spotting for the 3 weeks?

My spotting has since stopped and I was told by a dr it was probably just uterine lining.  After researching it, it's pretty common with nuvaring users
