Premarin

I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound, the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours.  I was wondering why i should be given premarin?  I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product?  They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C.  Please advise asap...i'm not able to sleep properly thinking that my blood might get infected...please advice..

I can't really help you, but they are probably waiting for you to start bleeding cause this means you cervix will be open. Try asking this question in the pregnancy 34-20 forum but i'd refer to it as a miscarriage (the girls get very defensive at the word abortion as so many are trying to get pregnant and some have suffered many miscarriage)
