Reason for concern?

Drar All, i'm 55, i've had à fibroid in my uterus for à number of yrs. Was taken into hospital for concussion, and when they looked into That I Said I'd had stomache Just before I passed out. So they did à ct on My abdomen and it turnés out that both ovaries are enlarged. They did another ct with  contrast, and i've been referera to gyn and will receive appt soon. Strange that BOTH ovaries are enlarged, and I'm becoming slightly worried, haven't seen gyno in 3 yrs..... Are there lots of reasons for benign enlargement of both ovaries?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Enlargement of ovaries can be found in cysts, benign or malignant growths , endometriosis, benign tumors and ovarian cancer. You need to consult a gynecologist and get tests like 2 hr GTT, serum androgen and testosterone levels, LH-FSH ratio, prolactin levels, TSH levels,17-hydroxyprogesterone levels  and 3D ultrasound done.

I hope it helps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Thanks for reply. Med dr referred me to gyno and Said that he left it to them to look into. However, ovaries large! I find it stranger that they would become larger post menopause. Why would both become larger? Is there such à thing as "fatty ovaries"?

Tumors or masses must be present for Ovarian Cancer.  Not sure why sthe ovaries would be enlarged.  What did the doctor say?
