Is this normal?!

So a couple years ago when I first started my period (I was eleven at the time) I was at a friend's house and all the sudden I feel something flow out of me. *I had a very light cycle* I thought it was just blood because normally I feel the blood when it comes out  so I went home and checked my underwear and there was this huge blood clot about 5 inches long and 3 inches wide so about the size of a 3-5 year olds hand. I've had a really heavy flow ever since.i didn't go to my family about it because I thought it was normal so I checked my underwear a couple minutes ago and it was a small blood clot about the size of a dime. I just need someone to answer my question if it's normal to have that big of a blood clot come out of you a couple months after you got your first ever period.
