So I went back for results and he said I had low grade cells. He isn't worried about them right now but he said I have to have a pap every year and if I get two more considered low grade, they will have to go in and burn out some things. Thank you for answering my post
Hello,
There are a few conditions causing abnormal PAP smear. According to American pregnancy association these include,
• An infection or an inflammation
• Herpes
• Trichomoniasis
• Recent sexual activity
• HPV (Human Papilloma Virus)
• Dysplasia (abnormal cells that can be pre-cancerous)
If you had abnormal PAP smear then you needed further investigations like colposcopy and biopsy to confirm the diagnosis which you have got done and the result has come as benign.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
