Vaginal Itch

About 2 years ago I began to have an itch in my genital area. The iner folds itch as well as the skin around the outside. The more i scratch the more it itches! It isnt a yeast infection. Doesnt seem to be an STD. I am clueless as to what it is.

I did notice that my discharge smelled fishy after sex and now smells different than my normal smell all around, and I have NEVER had a problem with odor. EVER!

So with the "new strange smell" also came the itching. Itching that is realived after washing with soap and water OR just soaking in a hot tub (but really i cant do that more than 2 times a day). So it will be insanely itchy - i'll take a bath for relief - a few days later i'll notice some skin pealing (from all the scratching).

I have also noticed that when I had to take anti-biodics for a sinus infection my smell was returning to normal but when i stopped them the strange smell came back.. ?? And lately (past 6 months or so) i have noticed some itching around my anus?

Any ideas? No i have not gone to the doctor and yes i know i should go but i guess i dont think it is really serious just some annoying itching and extreamly annoying odor.

I even did one of those over the counter vaginal screening tests to test the ph of your vagina. It pointed to BV and some other things none of which were stds?

REcently I went to the doctor about a SORE itchy vagina and the skin on it was peeling. I thought it was from the menthol lube we were using so I made sure to tell the doctor. They didnt say I HAD a yeast infection but they said to use monostat, the cream and the ovum insert. I read the pamphlet on it and yeast infections come with cottage cheese like discharge and fishy odor which I didnt have either of. (Thank GOD) I put the ovum in last night. It dissolves open releasing a thick cream. It does seep out so if/when you get it, wear a pad the next day. Its recomended to put it in before bed, as most would leak out then and its keeps it in better if you are laying down. Put a towel down at night too or wear a pad, it gets messy. It really does help though. Its only slightly itchy now after only a day.

Also, I have heard (from someone who heard so you dont know how true it is, but anyway...) if you wash out too much, like teice a day, that makes it worse. I know I was washing out really good every morning, and almost everynight before sex. The doctor said to not use a hard purfumy soap. Since the doctors yesterday, Ive just been rinsing out with water and using the monostat clean wipes. Hope this helps!

You probably have BV. Now here is the important part. How to get rid of vaginal odor. If you visit a doctor or any other medical practitioner they will all do the exact same thing. Write out a prescription for anti-biotics.

While this will kill the bad bacteria it will also kill the good bacteria you need to be healthy. As many as 30-40% of women will see BV return within 3-6 months.

There is an herbal treatment for vaginal odor that is caused by BV. It happens to be the only herbal treatment available but fortunately it is effective and many women say it is highly effective. it is called Femanol. Uses solid, proven herbal ingredients like deodorized garlic for killing bacteria, beta glucan (for building the immune system) and neem also for killing bacteria.

The final method to get rid of bacterial vaginosis is a home remedy for vaginal odor that I have developed. It involves inexpensive herbs and kitchen ingredients already found in many homes or they are readily available at a nearby store.
