Vaginal Sores

I started to have a slight itch on my vagina a few days ago and just thought it was an irritation due to clothing or soap.  The next evening I noticed that there were small red bumps around the top of my vagina.  They weren't painful, just itchy.  Then the night after that, the bumps started to look more like blisters or sores.  They itch like crazy and my skin is very sore.  I've been with my boyfriend only for a few months and we've only had sex twice.  The last time was about 3 weeks ago and both times we used condoms.  I have an appointment to see the doctor this week, but am really worried I have something serious.  What do you think this could be?

Thank you!  Well, it turns out I tested positived for herpes.  The doctor thinks I most likely got it from my boyfriend through oral sex because he gets cold sores frequently.  The strange thing is that he hasn't had one in months and it seems as though there's such a slim chance that he could pass it to me.  I guess I have just never been exposed to the virus.  It's all so unbelievable to me that this is happening.  It's so difficult to hear that you have some incurable disease that you have to live with the rest of your life.  I may or may not get an outbreak again, but I still have to worry about passing it on to others.  My boyfriend and I are in a pretty serious relationship, but I do worry that if we ever break up, no one will ever want to be with me.  It's just so hard to come to terms with it.

That is very crazy!  I never even thought about chicken pox there, ouch!!!! Well hopefully that's all it is. Waiting is very hard, I'm super impatient!!!! I'm waiting on results right now and it's very frustrating to have to wait when ya don't have any clue what's going on with your body. I wish you the best though :)

Thanks for your response!  I'm waiting to hear back from the doctor after she gets my test results.  She said at first that it looked like herpes, but she doesn't really think that's what it is.  She thought it really looks like chicken pox, which is so strange to me, but she said she's seen cases where women get them on the vagina.  Crazy!  Hopefully that's all it is, but I'm sitting around on pins and needles until I find out for sure!!  It's so scary!

Hey there, I'm not trying to make you worry because your doctor will find out what's wrong and will help you get better... but I was recently diagnosed with HPV aka genital warts. I thought that I just had a rash or irritation. My doctor told me that condoms don't prevent you from getting HPV. It is not curable but it's treatable. I wish you the best and you may just be allergic to something. But keep your head up and no matter what happens, try to stay positive. There are many people who have all kinds of things. Remember whether it's just a rash or if it's a disease, there are other people who have been there and you can always find support. Good luck! And try not to worry.
