Vaginal bumps, swelling

I felt a bump on the outside of my vagina a few days ago, then today when I was showering I felt several. I got a mirror and looked, and there are TONS of small to medium sized bumps all over, on the inside and outside. They are pretty much the same color as the surrounding area, but a little lighter. Also, the whole area down there is REALLY swollen and puffy. There is no pain or itching or discomfort, but it looks really really scary.
I have only had 2 sexual partners, and the current one is my boyfriend of 11 years. So I've never had an STD or anything. He just recovered from a bad back injury 4 months ago, so it was about 4 months since we were intimate, and now we are intimate quite often. I also just got a copper (Paraguard) IUD last month, but I haven't found anything for side effects that is similar to what I have. I don't completely shave down there, I use a trimmer to just trim close so I don't think it's ingrown hairs or anything, plus most of the bumps are in areas without hair. I am prone to UTIs but I haven't had one for a while. I've never had a yeast infection but from what I've read it doesn't seem like that either. I looked at pictures and descriptions of genital warts and they look nothing like what I have. And from the descriptions of herpes it doesn't seem like that at all either.
I am clueless as to what it might be, and I'm also really scared. I made an appt with my gyno but I couldn't get one for two weeks due to my work schedule. Help me please!!

Hi,
I was reading this and recalled a program the show "The Doctors" had on about a man with what sounds a lot like this...I think they said it was "pearly papules"...they said it is NOT an STD, and it can be on males and females...you may do a search and see what you can find. Also sometimes with Vulvar Vestibulitis there can be bump-like areas, kinda like "chicken skin" looking...sorry for the comparison...lol...Another thing you may look into is Lichen Planus or Lichen Sclerosis...tho not so sure either of these "match" what you describe, but just trying to think what else it may be...hope some of this helps you...please let us know how it turns out for you...
Take care

It seems more like allergy bumps but I can't think of anything I have done differently. Haven't switched body washes, toilet papers, lubricants, underwear (cotton boyshorts is the norm), etc. And I don't shave the area, just trim. And I don't have any allergies that I know of besides pitted fruits (weird I know!) - I had allergy testing done when I was a kid. (And the fruit allergy just gives me hives on my chest and back and makes my throat swell.)
And yes, I have made an appt with my doctor, but it's not for two weeks due to my work schedule and they were pretty full with appts too (the only place I can go is public health because I don't have insurance right now).
The outside ones look like little pimples and the inside ones look like mosquito bites, that's the best description I can come up with.
