Weird Discharge?

Hi, so this is some what embarrassing but when I woke up this morning I noticed I have white stuff inside my vagina. To clear things up Im 18 years old, I am sexually active. My period ended 3 days ago, I was sexually active 1 day ago. We didnt use a condom & I'm not on birth control. I've been checked for std's and I am clean. I also take showers on a regular basis. I have had a yeast infection before so I know the symptoms but I'm not showing any. There's no discharge but when I stick my finger up there it comes out on my hand kind of clumpy and white. There's no odor, no itching or discomfort. I'm very aware of my lady parts and this has never happened to me before so I'm some what worried. I don't want to use a yeast infection kit if I don't have to. I'm just curious maybe this is happening because we didnt use a condom & my vagina is attempting to clean itself or something I should be slightly worried about ? Any answers would be helpful thanks

I think it might just be semen mixed with vaginal secretions.  I sometimes get somewhat clumpy stuff that (TMI warning) is kind of like rubbery white snot.  Smells like normal discharge, just drier, and almost cheeselike, but no itching.  I've never had anyone come in me, though, so I can't speak to that part.  Don't use a yeast infection kit if you aren't showing symptoms--no need to screw up a delicate balance if there's nothing wrong.  If you're a bit dehydrated, I think that could also cause things to be a little drier inside, but that's just a theory.

You can always, of course, call your doctor if you have doubts.

I agree with sprecialmom, it could be the start of a yeast infection. Just because u had them before doesnt mean that they will be all the same, and white and clumpy its definitely a big signal of a yeast infection. Idk and idk if maybe specialmom knows but i thought i saw something in CVS it was like a tester kit to see if its actually a yeast infection. Maybe try one of those if u can find it and see what it says or just start using something like Monistat. Or u could visit ur gyno and see what they have to say if ur that worried but from what u described it sounds like a yeast infection and as i said they are all different and everyone experiences it in a different way, for example i dont get the clumpy discharge, i get extremely itchy and sore and its burns like hell when i urinate and i also get a yellowish discharge. So good luck and keep us posted. Hope this helped

Hi there and welcome. Could be the start of a yeast infection.  The clumpy and white discharge is the tell tale sign.  That 'cottage cheese' appearance is classic yeast infection.

Bacterial vaginosis is a big different than what you describe.  it is a thin, watery discharge that is greyish in color usually and does not itch but has a foul odor.

I'm guessing the itch is coming sweetie with the type of discharge you describe.

You can see your doctor if you do not want to guess---  and that is probably wise.  They often can prescribe a systemic pill that clears up a yeast infection quickly.  Keep the area dry, wear loose clothing, cotton  underwear, etc.  until you see your doctor.  Lots of luck!
