Whats going on with my 8yr old daughter

My 8yr old daughter continually has a red vagina with a horrible smell,,she washes really good down there. Diaper rash meds help for the time being but not sure if this is a yeast infection or what.  Was wondering if anyone has a child with a similar situation and what you do.

I actually stopped all baths for her and myself due to the infections we both get.  I started using acidophillus on her suggested by another member that has helped quit well and havent been using any soap down there when she washes,,although the baby shampoo one sounds like a great idea for times.  i also have her not wearing undies at night and some days.  Thank you both for the advice I really appreciate it.

I think I will book her a doc appt,,just in case

There's no need to use soap down there. Warm water from the tub or shower is enough to rinse off any urine or excess secretions. Soap is very harsh and drying to those tender tissues.
Does she take bubble baths? That could be another culprit. Some children and women end up with bladder infections from taking bubble baths.
It might be best to take her to the doctor to make sure everything is OK down there......

My daughter gets that way occasionally when she uses soap. She has to wash herself with baby shampoo in order to prevent this. I guess the chemicals are to much for her sensitive areas. Not only that soap burns her. It may be the soap she's using.
