hi,i am a new mom my baby is 2 months old and he reject my breast because i started to give him the formula I'm very sad what should i do to accept my breast
It sounds like you're doing all the right things. Is your daughter gaining weight OK? When my daughter was born she was so "good" and slept a lot. A lot different than my firstborn who wanted to eat every 2 hours day and night. Problem is she wasn't eating enough to gain weight as she should. So I had to wake her up and feed her. Bye-bye night time sleep for me. Oh well. Plus she couldn't handle solids well as she got older. Her stools got so hard that she couldn't pass them. I ended up nursing her for 18 months till her body was able to tolerate regular foods.
Rice cereal is supposed to be one of the easiest foods to digest so that's a good start if you need to supplement. Just remember, it will last longer in her tummy and she won't want to nurse as often and you'll be back to less milk production. What a vicious cycle, huh? If her doctor says she's gaining the right amount of weight, then she's probably doing just fine and so are you. Take care.
thank you so much for comments, am nursing on demand have been on reglan and is still not helping making a little more than before. True size dont help am a D and still cant make more milk. Making little more each day it seems like and still pumping as well as nursing her. Have stopped baby foods all together, maybe rice once a day if have to but no more foods. Thanks again
Are you nursing on demand or did you put her on a feeding schedule? The body is programmed to make more milk as needed. So the more often or longer the baby nurses, the more milk is produced. I remember it takes about 24 hours for it to catch up to baby's needs. Also be sure you're getting enough fluids for your own body. Cut out the colas and coffee since they act as a diuretic to some degree. And it has nothing to do with breast size (not sure of yours). I had people question my ability to nurse my kids because I basically have doorbells, not big at all. But the milk glands are still there and they worked just fine. I nursed all 3 of my kids for over a year each. Go easy on the baby foods. I've read introducing solids too soon to a baby can trigger some allergies. Hope things smooth out for you.
