The reason I said you should get diagnosed by a pro (an ob-gyn) is that while it could be a yeast infection, so often women read something on a website and then run out and buy an over-the-counter product and self-treat, and get it wrong.  It's a waste of time and money at best, and it could have serious ramifications at worst.  Your periods don't clean everything out.  Just to illustrate, if you had BV or chlamydia or syphilis, a period would not make them go away.  Now, please, I'm not saying you have syphilis, I'm just using it as an example.  Periods don't make the vagina well if it has something bothering it.  Also the fact that you are having unprotected sex suggests that you could be passing something back and forth.  If a woman has BV or chlamydia, her partner needs to get treated too.  This news gets accepted better by a partner if it comes from a doctor, not if it comes from his girlfriend waving a tube of Vagisil that she just "thinks" might be the answer.

I also suggested it because talking to an ob-gyn might help you weigh more dispassionately your practice of having sex without protection.  This is one of the worse eras in history to get away with having unprotected sex safely (from a point of view of disease), and at 19 you are quite likely to get pregnant even if you dodge the STD bullet.  A doc could help you figure out what you want to do; you already have one infection, you don't want more.

Good luck, honey.  I hope you aren't offended.

Also, ducheing is a no no,try not to do that. I use to every month. I went to my docs with the goo coming out and the smell. They gave me some meds to take for a  few days, have not had the prob since. Ducheing brings on infections. It kills what your body needs. My doc said never to do that. just a warm rag and gental soap for cleanings. That why you might have that, just though of it.

Dont worry too much, thats quite normal for your age.It sounds like a yeast infection. However if you do get a fishy smell see a doctor.Thats would be something to get treated. Now you state you had your period since July.Have you been bleeding this whole time?

I'd definitely get checked by your ob-gyn.  It sounds like you are having unprotected sex by what you described, so you really should be diagnosed by a pro.

Sounds like a yeast infection.  Go see your ob-gyn to be sure and get a prescription; also are you on the pill?
