Why..

Okay, I have been looking for an answer for why I have this foul fishy stench in my vaginal area. Every time i go to the restroom i smell it. I shower everyday..but, no matter what I seem to do it always comes back. Not only does it stink down there, I constantly have a discharge. Everyday all day i wear a panty liner because i cant take the wetness on my panties. I have no idea why this wont go away. An I woke up this morning and it itched really bad down there. I'm all swollen up and red, it even hurts to walk.. Should i switch my soap maybe? I've tried douching, and also tried these "smell good bullets" that you put up there and they dissolve. I don't know what else to do..please someone help...

Thank you!..Do I just as the pharmacist for something that treats thrush? The douching is making it worse, could the little scented bullets have made it worse also. Soon after I used it i started itching and got all rashed up. Do you suggest changing my body wash?..I am just using suave i think it is, berry scented.

OTC is over the counter (probably from a pharmacy rather than a supermarket).  It means you don't need a prescription to get it.

I'm not so sure that it is thrush.  Thrush often has a cheesy looking discharge.  A fishy smell and discharge suggests bacterial vaginosus (BV) which probably requires antibiotics such as metronidazole (Flagyl).

The douching is making it worse and you may have both thrush and BV.

You could try a thrush treatment ie Diflucan, Canesten or other antifungals.  But you'd probably be better off going to the doctor and getting a swab so you that you be treated with the most effective medication depending on what the actual cause is.

It could also be trichomoniasis.  This is an STI and is also treated with metronidazole.

Hi sweetie, sounds like thrush which your pharmacist can help with. You should see a doc if it doesn't clear up after OTC treatment tho.
