I've been having a clear discharge for the last 2 months, I have to wear a pad everyday..  However, currently I am giving off an odor.  I bath and clean everyday, but the odor is still there, a metallic or fishy odor.    I've had a pap smear 2 weeks ago and everything is normal.  No STD's either.  I stopped having sexual intercourse 1 year ago.  I don't know what is going on, the smell is embarrasing.

Hello,
Bacterial vaginosis is caused by a change in the type of bacteria found in the vagina. The exact cause for the change in type of bacteria is still not known, but it is can be due to IUD’s,multiple sex partners or having intercourse with a new partner.

Treatment is by metronidazole((Flagyl, MetroGel) and clindamycin (Cleocin). They are available as pills or vaginal gels or creams but should be used under medical supervision.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Have you had your hormone levels tested lately? Evidently, elevated estrogen can cause Leukorrhea, which could include clear, white or yellowish discharge. I had this when I was doubling my BC pill. My gyn has since changed the pill to double the progesterone but NOT the estrogen.
