Anytime someting is bothering you or you don't thin something may be right, please let your mom.  Most of the time if you feel something may not be right, it isn't.  An OBGYN can maybe help you regulate your periods.  I don't think there is anything "really wrong" but you don't want to become anemic because you are bleeding more than usual.  I had this happen to me when I was your age and the doctor did help make this better.  Goodluck!

Hello there sweetie..  I think it might be a good idea to talk to your Mom about this.  It might be something that she has too or that runs in your family.  If so she will know what to do right away about it.  And if she does not know, then you do need to talk to your doctor. You need to find out and make sure nothing is really wrong with you.  It could be a quick fix that your Mom and doctor will know what to do right away with..  I will pray for you and for wisdom.  Losing too much blood is not good for you and can lead to other problems for you.
Personally I did not do well when they put me on the pill when I was younger for abnormal periods but I know of some girls that it helped very well.  It is all very trial and error and you need to speak up about it if you don't like how it makes you feel if they try you on it.  You have the right to make them keep trying to find what is really wrong with you.

Hi, I'm 17, and a female so it's easy for me to relate to where your at. Though I don't have this particular problem, I know a couple girlfriends do. Usually most girls agree that it takes a while to develope a regular cycle. I got my period at 10 and I didn't develope a regular cycle until I was atleast 14, so this isn't too unordinary. Anyways, so you could just suffer though it until your hormones kinda regulate. One option is you could start taking Vitex Chasteberry which is an all natural supplement, it isn't an instant fix type of thing but it just helps regulate you a over time, no side effects. You can buy this at somewhere like Whole Foods. Or most girls I know who have menstrual problems go on either the pill or the patch. This I think is most effective to regulate you, and it's pretty quick but keep in mind there are a lot of side effects. Talk to your doctor and your mom, most likely your doctor would put you on birth control, or if you walk to go a natural way there are doctors who only prescribe/ reccomend herbal supplements. So just decide what you would like, there are many options for you, Hope this helps!
