can i empty a capsule of nitrofurantoin macro in a spoonful of applesauce to take it?
I have a problem taking pills, I was prescribed this same antibiotic and called my pharmacist who told me it was fine to do that as long as I put it in something like apple sauce and be sure to get all the powder as well as a small bead that's in the capsule.
It wouldn't be a good idea. It's possible the capsule is to get the drug past your stomach, because it is destroyed by stomach acid. Also, antibiotics are notoriously bitter and applesauce might not help much. Sorry you have to take those big pills though. Maybe taking them along with a spoonful of applesauce will help them go down.
