Thank you for your advice! Since last night when I posted that question I have been experiencing what it seems to be a second period? Like I said I had a period on Jan 12 (which was brown like they always are) and I woke up today and there is a lot of brown discharge. What could this be?

Hi there.  First, let me just say that no one can diagnose you over the internet.  Only a doctor and a physical exam can do that.  We can make a suggestion or give you something to think about but that is it.  The internet does not substitute for medical care.

To me, this does sound normal.  Our discharge will change from time to time and it is often related to hormones. The brown in the discharge is old blood, also very normal.  As you have no other symptoms, I would wait until this evens out and goes back to the discharge you are used to.  If it doesn't, see a doctor but again, you aren't describing anything that is typically outside of normal.  Hormones can do all sorts of things to our discharge.  Do NOT douche or anything like that as it is not recommended.  Wishing you the best of luck.
