abnormal period and pregnancy

I was told that an abnormal period can be a sign of pregnancy.Does anyone know why pregnancy would cause a period to be abnormal because i thought that if you were pregnant then you wouldn't even get your period.I'm very confused. Can anyone clear this up for me?

you wouldn't i think i answered this arleady and you still are very confused about pregnnacy and conception. see a doctor. i know your very confused and concerned about whats going on with your body but eventually you will need to see a doctor. even if you are pregnant. so just see them now and talk with them and ask all the questions you need to because they are doctors and can give real medical advice.

you would not get a period if you were pregnant, unless you had a medical condition.

you can bleed much like a period. but it would not be a period
