This could be pre-menopause but its something that could be controlled. have you been on birth control to see if it stops? are you having pain with this? Have you seen a GYN? It is not right for any woman to bleed for this long. Your cycles should be pretty much consistent. I was told by my family doctor it was pre-menopause 2 years ago and he put me on birth control for 3 months and it didnt help so I just let nature take its course till I started having severe pain during my cycles. Now I am in pain 24-7. I am still having my cycles every 2 weeks and I have tried depo provera. It didnt work either. I also had a laparoscopy. I am still healing form it. my GYN had me get a second opinion and I was told it is possible between endometriosis and dysfunctional uterine bleeding. I am due to see my doctor in a couple weeks to see about a hysterectomy since I'm done having children and I'm 38. There is a number of things you need to do. 1. get yourself educated by looking on the internet for your symptoms. 2. ask questions!! get them from the internet they have great resources. 3.Talk to your GYN about everything that your going through. I have learned through many doctors that things can be over looked when trying to get a answer as to what is wrong and why. Let me know how things are going or if you have any more symptoms you didnt write about. You just need to see a GYN and look very well for one that is educated in the areas I mentioned. I went through 3 GYN's and its easier said then done. I travel 2 hours one way to see my GYN and thats better than most women. Thanks....Staci
