embarassing question

I often get some what I assume are pimples near my vaginal area. And I've also assumed it's from being naturally wet down there all the time. I've never had a problem with them either. I put on some baby powder and sleep with no panties and boom a day or two later it gone. However recently I've gotten what again I assume is a pimple.. But it's gotten rather large and it won't go away. Its also sore to the touch. Sometimes it hurts to walk or sit. Or my pants will irritate it. Its not hard like a pimple would be. Its rather puffy and very very soft. I'm afraid it might be filled with fluid of some sort. Could it be a pimple? Something else? Nd if I can take care of it myself how do I do so? I would love to spare the embarrassment of going to the doctor! Thank you for the help!

Okay ladies this is actually starting to get a little serious. I need the most serious advice ever. The doctor can't see me until Wednesday.. Yesterday on Saturday I was told to continously put a hot rag on it to try n let it naturally drain. Well I did so and ended up burning myself. Today while I'm at work I had to pee so bad.. And... (prepare yourself tmi) I wiped and instantly bit my tongue n burst into tears. Puss and blood are coming out of it. I can't even touch it it stings SO bad. I wiped up as best as I possibly could n now I'm back at my desk. Is this something I can wait to take care of Wednesday or should I be finding elsewhere. I think an emergency room would be a little extreme. But I certainly have myself spooked! Advice is really appreciated right now!!

I agree with specialmom. Don't be embarrassed to go to a Dr. I know the ins. thing is hard but don't ever feel like you can't go to the Dr. about anything. I'm a receptionist with no medical back ground, you should here the things that people tell me! This is nothing, Don't ever be ashamed about something like this,

If you feel uncomfortable it's only natural. Just call the office and tell them you have a female issue and if they want you to talk about it more just suggest it's personal and that you would rather tell a nurse.

As not advised by Dr.'s you can always look things up online too, Be careful what you search for though. lol I don't really suggest looking at pictures, it's not for the weak stomached! There maybe a natural or like speacil mom said an otc that can help you. Good luck!

Hi there.  The insurance issue is always hard.  I know it is easy for me to say "see a doctor" but difficult at times.  What I'm concerned about is if something is infected.  You could try a topical antibiotic ointment that is sold over the counter.  It would be ideal to be seen.  Are there any clinics in your area?  There is planned parenthood which takes cash and is a great place in situations like this.  And urgent cares also see patients without insurance and assign fees often on a sliding fee scale.

While it could be cysts, those do often need medical attention hon.

Do you have parents you can talk to about this who might help?

Abscesses called Bartholan (sp?) cysts are commonly like this.  They are essentially boils and will need antibiotuc treatment and warm flannel encouragement to burst (if they don't reduce or burst they need lancing).  It's more common in curvier girls in part due to friction down there and in part due to glucose issues and insulin resistance being more common and making curvy girls more prone to them. If you get them recurring you'll want to explore whether you have insulin resistance or other related conditions  (PCOS for example).

Okay, whew!  Glad an std isn't a possibility.  Honestly, can you go to a doctor for this?  I think that is best hon.

Thank you for the advice. Its common for me maybe because I have big legs and they rub together when I walk? Haha I don't know. And no I'm not sexually active! So I know there's 100% chance of it not being an std

Hi there.  I'm not sure it is common to get 'pimples' in that area.  I have never gotten one.  I've had a an infected hair follicle and lots of people get cysts.  More likely it is something like this.  And if it is infected, it needs antibiotics.  Another question?  Are you sexually active?  Could you have an std?

Either way, you need to be evaluated by a doctor hon.  Really important to get his looked at and treated. good luck
