exercise after birth?

My best friend is expecting. she's kinda worried she'll gain too much weight that will be impossible to get rid of when after the kid is born. but she's sticking to a healthy diet. she really loves her veggies! especially with a bit of dressing! but she doesnt mind some meat every once in awhile.

so she stopped her exercise cause she and her mom fear it will harm the baby and make it hard to give birth naturally. plus she's scared of a c section thing.... its her fear of being sliced open phobia. but she's bracing herself just encase it happens.

ow and she's wondering when would it be OK for her to start her exercises again? you know, after the kid is born?

actually working out while pregnant (walking or expecting mom aerobics/yoga for example) helps with delivery. makes it a lot easier. i was pregnant with twins and up until i was put on bedrest at 24 weeks i walked 4-5 miles everyday on my treadmill. once i dialated however i had to stop. i ended up gaining about 100 lbs while i was pregnant....however i've lost all but 20 of it so far. as long as she takes care of herself and works out afterward she has nothing to worry about. my tummy is even starting to shrink back to normal. it will take time to loose the weight so she must be patient.

She can exercise while she is pregnant, but she needs to ask the doctor about her specific routine to see if it's all ok. The doctor will be able to tell her what she can/can't do. As for after, I'd wait until the six week check up she'll get before doing exercise, so her body has time to heal~~~that's if it's a vaginal birth. She's better off waiting longer if she ends up with a c-section.
