My sister just got pregnant with her second child as a result from having sex a day or two after her period.  Honestly you can pregnant at any time, no matter if you are on your period or not. It all depends on when you ovulate...  If you don't want to get pregnant, you need birth control such as pills or a condom.  That's just my thoughts.  As above, if you are OK with having sex on your period, go for it, just remember to be safe!

Having sex while on your period is fine as long as you and your partner are fine with it.

I would say the increase in bleeding is pretty normal since when you orgasm your uterus contracts, thus, squeezing the blood out of it.
Most women dont ovulate while on their period but some do so there is a chance. Every time you have unprotected sex you run the risk of getting pregnant.
