how do you know when your babies lactose and tolerant?
My friend has a 10 week old baby son. She has tried 3 different brands of formula because she is not able to breast feed. Her son has really bad bowel movements. He is not constipated. He has diarrhea.. We just bought him Lactose free Formula and are waiting for his next bowel movement to see if anything has improved. Do you think there may be a possibility of him being Lactose and Tolerant?

You can get blood tests like RAST or skin ***** test done to find whether if the child is allergic to milk or not.That is the only way of confirming the allergic reaction. Lactose intolerance can be tested by elimination diet.
You should get investigated for this from an allergist.
