It is probably mastitis, which undoubtedly hurts like crazy.  Please see your doctor right away (even call the night line) and get on some antibiotics.  I believe the advice is to let the baby nurse even so, or to pump, so the milk does not stay in the duct and provide a place for the bacteria to grow further.  You can kneel in the bathtub and let the breasts hang in the water, which eases some of the pain, and you can definitely express milk, but call the doctor too.

Sounds like you may have an infection.  I don't know that I would worry about breast cancer but maybe mastitis.  Mastitis can be very painful and you will have a fever and feel like you have the flu.  This requires antibiotics.  You need to call your OBGYN or go to your breastfeeding clinic (if you have one) and let them take a look.  Just because you may have an infection and need antibiotics, it doesn't mean you will never be able to feed your baby again.  See what the dr. says and see if the medication he may or may not give you is safe will breastfeeding.  Use ice or cold pack for pain and if you can take ibuprofen for swelling.  It is hard to know what this is until someone sees it.  Is it bleeding, cracked?  Do you see any reddened areas?  How long have you been breastfeeding and how often do you feed?
