miscarriage

I had my first appt on wed April 21st, I was about 10 weeks along.  The ultrasound could not find my baby's heartbeat and dr said the baby wasnt growing.  I haven't had any cramps or anything, and my dr said if I did not pass it naturally by Tuesday I will have a D &C.  I'm wondering why they didn't schedule me sooner? I am sitting here at home moping and crying and just want it to be over.  So we can try again.  We are so devastated.  This was our first pregnancy, and I cant believe its not happening anymore.  It is comforting to know that many woman have gone through this and that unfortunately it is more common that i ever thought.

I am sorry you are going through this. Before you have the D&C make sure they do another ultrasound or listen for a heart beat. I was 9 weeks preg. and they said that the baby had died so they made me wait for the weekend so on the monday my doctors nurse sugested that we did another ultrasound and guess what my baby was there.

Best wishes to you

I'm sorry you are going through this.  I to had to wait from a Friday till the Monday for my D&C and it was by far the worst weekend of my life.  I was 12 weeks and the baby had stopped growing at 7wks 3 days so there was no doubt that the pregnancy had failed (also no heartbeat).

It does seem harsh for them to make you wait so long, as my Dr said to me that as my body hadn't dealt with it already then it wasn't likely to.

My thoughts are with you.

I'm so sorry, miscarriage is the worst.  The only suggestion I have is that before you have the D&C, ask for one more ultrasound so you are sure in your heart that it really is true.  Good luck with trying again, please take heart in the folklore that you are very fertile in the months right after a loss.  Again, I'm sorry.
