nausea DURING bowel movements

I have issues with my bowels and intestines.  I had colonoscopy one month ago, Dr finds nothing wrong, and no solution.  I often have urgent need to move bowels.  Sometimes, during the urgent bowel movement, extreme nausea (i sometimes vomit after bowel movement). usually, after the movement of substance out of my bowels, the nausea stops.  it seems as if the actual movement of substance THRU the bowels causes nausea in my stomach.  any suggestions as to other options?  i tried logging diet and bm for a month and found no clues as to dietary causes.  thank you so much for your time.

This is an older post, so hopefully you found an answer already. However, since I happened upon it thought maybe others still dealing with similar would as well. There are several conditions that could cause your symptoms, some of them serious. You really should find a good gastroenterologist & get a full work up. If they don't find anything serious, then it may be irritable bowel, which isn't life threatening, but is common and can definitely impact your life in a huge way. If it's IBS, then it's usually a matter of trial & error to find what works for you. Probiotics (most GI docs recommend Align, pricey, but the best) can help a great deal. Also, increased fiber can help, but you may have to experiment with the timing so you are near a bathroom. As far as fiber supplements, citrucel is one of the few that doesn't cause a lot of gas. Increasing your water intake is always helpful, lowering stress as much as you can, eating smaller meals more frequently (and avoiding large meals) can also help. Some fiber containing foods can trigger IBS symptoms, but it's often different for each person. Sugar free foods (that contain sorbitol or similar sweeteners) are a common culprit. Coffee can also trigger an attack in some people. It's often a matter of closely monitoring your symptoms after eating certain foods & adjusting based on results. There are also prescription medications to reduce colon/intestinal spasms. IBS isn't curable, but you can find ways to manage your symptoms if this is the issue.

I get this too.  The dr told me it was irritable bowel syndrome.  I also get severe cramps sometimes when I have to go to the bathroom.  One time I actually passed out while sitting on the toilet and fell right on my face.  The dr. gave me a medicine that is supposed to relax the bowel and it has helped.  When I feel the cramping symptoms coming on I take it and I haven't had any more of the vomiting or passing out.
