Hello,
Apart from being a fertility drug, Clomid has many other uses. It is used in amenorrhea-galactorrhea syndrome, psychogenic amenorrhea, post-oral-contraceptive amenorrhea, and certain cases of secondary amenorrhea. Since you had leaking breasts so your doctor must be putting you on this.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Thank you very much for responding.
The problem started with irregular periods[2007] in which sometimes i could go on and off for three months. Later on i started lactating[2010]. My gyn said the secretion was not infected and placed me on bromocriptine for 3 months. Now my periods have normalised[since 2011]. I see it regularly and on time btw 28-30 days. Recently i did an hormonal test just to be sure it had normalised and the doc said my lsh maybe too low for ovulation.
My concern is that instead of the gyn to give me a drug to normalise my hormones, he is recommeding clomid and i am not ready to get preg now.
Also, i experience ovulation spotting once in a while.
pls what do you advise.
Thank you

Hello,
The normal values for prolactin are: Males: 2 - 18 ng/mL; Nonpregnant females: 2 - 29 ng/mL; Pregnant women: 10 - 209 ng/mL.  Some medications that alter brain chemistry can affect your prolactin level. For example, certain medications used to treat depression and other mental health disorders can raise your prolactin level. A less common cause of an elevated prolactin level is a structural change that occurs in the pituitary gland like prolactinoma which is a benign growth.

You need to get an evaluation done from a gynecologist to rule it out.
