Hi there, menopause starts closer to 50. It is rare to have any decline in periods in the 30's and early to mid 40's. I'm in my late 40's and have yet to see much difference. But I'm looking for changes. I suspect they will come in the next few years. My sister at 52 is also not in menopause as of yet.
Menopause is different for each woman and is accompanied by several different things besides just one's period stopping. A doctor can check blood levels to know if a woman is in menopause or approaching it. '
Good luck. Personally, from what I've read, I'd rather have my period that the side effects of menopause but what can ya do, right? peace
It varies widely between the ages 30's to the 50's. When I was a kid, the woman on the farm next to us, who was in her mid 50's had a baby girl. She had all her previous kids when she was in her 20's. That meant her first kids were grown and had kids of their own. It was a source of amusement to us kids riding the bus that when this little girl was old enough to go to school, she was the aunt of the teenage daughters from the woman's first children. So menopause can come quite late. Having it happen in the 30's is rare. The average age is around 50. A better guide for you personally is the age at which your close relatives reached menopause.
