please please helppppp!!!

Hi. I have had a pretty much constant white/cream colored discharge that is pain free and usually has an odor everyday since i was around 14 and i am now 20 and still get this daily. I'm wondering if this is normal or if i have some kind of issue?? I have been wondering this a long time but have been too embarrassed to ask about it because i do not know if it is normal or not... i did not become sexually active until i was 18 and there was no change in my situation when i did become sexually active. Also, the past two days i have had pain-free light brown with a pinkish tint to my discharge which is not normal for me and i do not know what is causing it. I am on birth control and my period is not due for almost another week and a half. The last time i had intercourse was about a week ago. I'm wondering if i should worry about prenancy? a uti? i am very prone to uti's supposedly because i have a small urethra or something of that nature however i have not had any itching, pain, frequent urinating, or blood in my urine which are the typical signs i get when i have a uti. I feel embarrassed to ask my doctor in person before i have some kind of clue on what's going on.. if there are any doctors or anyone who might know anything helpful to me pleeeeasee help with any advice or info! i would greatly appreciate it!!!

Well spotting while on birth control is completely normal and that sounds like that is what is going on. Now to the smelly discharge...I had this for quite some time ie like you all while growing up and what was up with me was that I had chronic bacterial infections. It was never explained to me why I got them but the symptoms are thick discharge, and foul odor amongst other things. Don't be afraid or embarrassed about telling your doctor bc that is their profession and their goal is to help you. What they'll want to do is a culture aka Pap smear to check for infection and abnormalities. Something I try to do to manage the odor is eat a balanced diet staying away from foods that affect the body's/vagina's PH and balance. That change alone has made an impact on my health down there!! Best of Luck BB
