pregnant or pms

Hi, I am a 25 year old healthy female. I have had tenderness/soreness in my nipples (not the whole breast) for about a week now. I am suppose to start my period in 2 days. I never have had breast tenderness or nipple tenderness before or during my cyle. Only pms symptom I usually have is cramps. I am on birthcontrol and have always had regular period. I have not changes diet, clothes, soaps, or excerise. Could this be a sign of pregnancy? Or just a new symptom of pms? Could use so advice. Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
If there is a history of any unprotected intercourse close to ovulation, then chances of pregnancy are there. You should get your pregnancy status checked. Hence to confirm the status of pregnancy, I suggest you to test for pregnancy by a highly sensitive pregnancy test 10 days post ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test. Also then I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Not sure which .... but it may well be due to hormonal changes/levels. You might try the "Gynecology/Women's Health" Forum. Since your symptoms are bilateral I doubt any relation to Breast Cancer and that's what we deal with here in this Community.   Thanks .....
