Hi, I have been having awful abdominal pains for quite a few week, have been extremely tired no matter how much sleep I get which is always between 8-10 hours. I went to the doctors last week and they sent me in for a ct scan. The report found a tumour within the pouch of douglas on the right side. The tumour measured at 27mm x 24mm. It says that it is a fat containing tumour consistent with a dermoid. The doctor then sent me for an internal ultrasound. The report for this said that....
The uterus is anteverted with a volume of 24cc
The endometrical thickness is 5mm
Right ovarian volume is 21cc
Left ovarian volume is 8.9cc
The tumour was classes as an echogenic lesion
No free fluid is seen
What does this mean? Is it normal to have such a difference in ovary volume? Could this be an early stage ovarian cancer or just a cyst? Any extra information or advice on this would be extremely appreciated. I am 18 years old and quite healthy.
I have also had Chlamydia for over 2 years. The doctors have given me a few rounds of medication and it has never gone away. Could this be a cause of whats happening or be related in any way? I know there has been a new research study at the moment trying to see if chlamydia can cause ovarian cancer.
I hope this is all the information you need.
Thank you
