Pulsing feeling above pelvic bone?

Okay so I have tried to google this, but I keep constantly finding similar things happening to pregnant women. I am not pregnant, and there is no way that I could be.

Basically, randomly I will feel a pulsation above the pelvic bone. It kind of feels like my heartbeat and sometimes it's fast. It doesn't last all day, it usually goes away pretty quickly. However it's annoying not knowing what's causing this. I have no health insurance, so I can't talk to anyone. It doesn't happen frequently either. I notice it from time to time, with maybe a few to several weeks in between.

Has anyone experienced this or know what it may be? I'm not sure if it matters but I'm about two weeks away from my period now. Not sure about in the past. I am also often sitting when I notice it.

Yes, in April is when ours kicks in. I notice sometimes that I can feel a pulse in other places, namely my sides, leg, or butt. They never concerned me before, I thought maybe it had something to do with the way I was sitting. Could this be the same thing as the pelvic area pulsing?

When you get health insurance, hopefully soon --- if you live in the US, it's law you have it in about a month---  set up a physical.  At that time, talk to your doctor about this.  It is doubtful it is a problem but better safe than sorry.

Alright well I can't see a doctor until I get health insurance so if it were the case that it was enlarged, I hope it can wait.

Hi there.  Your aorta actually runs down through your abdomen.  You are most likely feeling that.  Thin people especially will feel this.  However, I hate to bring this up but you might want to see a doctor----  it could be an enlarged aorta and you would want to have a doctor discuss what to do if that is the case.  I mention that to be on the safe side---  to get examined by your doctor---  but it is not uncommon to feel a pulse there.  I can lay on my back and feel it too and actually sometimes, I swear I see it.  :>)

Women that are pregnant can not feel their baby's heart beat for the record.   We live to hear it and see it at the ob/gyn's office!

good luck
