The nurse was giving you the standard count based on your period -- the average woman ovulates 14 days before her next period, and so it is often counted as 14 days after her last period (assuming a 28-day menstrual cycle).  But many women ovulate early, my own sister ovulates on day 8.  So if the nurse was just giving you an average, you can't count on the 27th as being an exact date.

Did you have sex with someone else nearer to the 27th?  It is possible for the sperm to live up to five days in your reproductive tract, which takes you to the 22nd with the guy from the 17th.  If you didn't have sex with anyone else from, say, the 20th through the 30th, the guy from the 17th is likely the father.
