well I am 3 days post op. and very sore. I am taking 600mg ibprofin every 6 hours and stopped the perc. because i didn't want the constipation. I am taking 2 colase and a cap full of metmucil. I feel like someone is pinching me and when i walk i feel too much pressure. Si i'm laying down most of the time. I did find that a numbing spray helps along with a cold pack to reduce swelling. I will keep you posted.
I am 6 days post op for laproscopic total hysterectomy and and have very sharp pain and a feeling of pressure in the rectal area. I do not want to take the vicodan because it causes constipation. I take 800 mg ibuprofen every 8 hours and it helps a little. I don't go back to Dr for a couple more weeks so I was searching for indications of how long this pain will last.
I am 12 days post opt. My dr. Told me it would be horrible pain.I had rectocelele and sptncter repair surgery. I wore a cat herder Forrest 8 days. I only stayed in hospital one nite.the pain is not that bad. Take your medication as told. Start taking stool softeners 3 times aday the week before surgery. He used part of a cow to rebuild myvagina wall..I was told it was a lot more work when he got in. Mine was all done through the vagina
I am not allowed to pick up over 5 lbs for 3months. Then not over 25 lbs for rest of life.
I got a uti 8days after surgery . Now that was pretty painful.
Don't worry too much. I did the same thing read the Internet and scared myself. I went in thinking the worst. So it wasn't as bad as I thought
If you have anymore questions I would gladly answer them

Not sure how long ago this was posted? But I am 3.5weeks postop and although the 5 day hospital stay was a nightmare, due to morfien intolerance, I would say it has not been that bad?! Op was done via incision, bikini cut, thankfully not via rectum. No penetration problems this way, but I do need to rest up a lot, am still sore, but already feel the difference in bowel movement....easier and does not all feel 'at the bottom end?' My dr. has guaranteed a jump on the trampoline!! (I am 64)
