Hi, I realize this is an old post but did you ever find out what it was? I have the same issue now....having colonoscopy next week.
I have the same pain about 2 ins right of navel but have only noticed it since an appendectomy a month ago. Prior to this I had occasional pain on the right hand side and two severe bouts of pain and sickness, which put me in Accident and Emergency Dept (10 years apart). The third time was last month and led to a week in hospital having tests and finally a CT scan, which showed my appendix was twice normal size. Surgeon afterwards said it was about to burst. I am still sensitive around the wound so thought the bruise-like pain by the navel when I leaned over was related to this op - but I wonder if the swollen appendix was a symptom of something else. The ultrasound scans couldn't even find my ovaries let alone anything else. I'm early 50s, female and had a caesarean 14 years ago. Had the first pains after this and was told it was probably adhesions. Was checked for pregnancy when I had the first attack of pain that put me in A&E - possible ectopic pregnancy. When test negative and pain reduced I was sent home. Swabs and examinations last month indicate nothing wrong with womb or bladder. I suspect bowel problems and wonder if it could be related to fats such as cheese and cream - my only vices.
Did you find out what was causing your pain? I have such similar symptoms. Have had appendix out and have had both tubes removed with my left ovary. Had an operation on my kidney, so feel like have had so many things the docs are thinking oh what now? Pain is very acute and suffer for days at a time. Seem to have alot of flatulence aswell. Think it's maybe bowel, but do not want operation as I want to start ivf
I have been having similar pain. it is right next to my belly button just on the right side. sometimes it just feels as if i have a bruise on the inside sometimes it hurts alot worse. did you figure out what yours was???
you should consider seeing a urologist. Bladder conditions also present themselves as dull ache in right side and by navel. (ie: urachal cyst, etc..)
Thanks for your interest. I have had an abdominal ultra sound, also normal. I've had about 10 test, all normal. Now my doctor want me to see a gastroentoligist, who will
want to do G I series or Endoscopy. I'm praying to God to guide me.
Could be you have a hernia, which is when a muscle tears in your abdomen, and this can be fixed with a simple surgery. I got an umbilical hernia when I got real swollen in the belly from a medication I was on, and when I got to coughing, I tore a muscle there, it kind of sticks out in that spot. But if this happened more than a month ago, usually a hernia doesn't hurt quite that long, but ask your regular doc to be sure and rule out that possibility, becuz if it HAS hurt this long, it needs fixing for sure. Also, if you'll get a CAT scan done of your entire abdomen (not just the pelvis), could be they'll find something that's not quite right, like a blocked duct in the gallbladder or any number of things, and then they'll be able to treat you.
