PVC's and Menstruation

I am a 32 yr old female. Overweight however losing weight on weight watchers. About 7 years ago I began having pvcs and over a few months time they escalated to on a 24 hr holter monitor I had over 17,000. They did an ablation and it worked until February of this year. so 7 years later they came back. This time they aren't as bad though a holter monitor showed almost 7,000. they won't do the ablation this time because supposedly it isn't enought to warrant that now. So they keep trying this med and that med and nothing keeps working. One thing I have noticed this time around is that now instead of all day every day like 7 years ago, this time they are all day every day for 2 to 2 1/2 wks at a time. So I always think, ok good now this med will work and then bam, palpitations are back. Well I just noticed that I think they palpitations are starting around the time I ovulate. They stay and continue, all day every day, never letting up until about the 2nd day of my period. Then they go away and I feel great! I can exercise and play with my daughter again. but during that 2-3 week period before I start my period I am miserable. I can't sleep due to the extreme nature of these PVCs. I can't exercise. I'm dizzy and my head feels like it is going to pop off. I am short of breath etc etc. Pulse is over 105 during this time. It cuts into my normal big time. Its like I have to stop living for 3 weeks of my life every month. I have had stress tests and ekgs and echos. Everything is fine. My most recent echo onlyn showed mild mitral regurgitation which is no biggie they said. Now I am on diltiazem and it isn't working. Nothing works. What I really want is another ablation so I can just live my life normally but my current cardiologist won't do it. The last one worked so well. I was like a new girl for 7 years. I guess my question is this: Do hormones cause these PVC's??? Is it normal to get them this bad before a period????Why does it happen and is there anything to prevent them since I can't get the ablation? I take liquid magnesium and drink plenty of extra orange juice during these bouts of PVC's but that doesnt help either. I am getting so exhausted from this and my work is beiing affected and I don't want to lose my job. I just want them gone! It is sooo frustrating to feel this way and then have your cardiologist look at you  and say "your fine, every one has them" ok thats just fine but I'm not everyone and I know they arent going to kill me but they are affecting my quality of life and yes everyone may have them but not everyone is the same and they affect me more and I obviously feel them stronger and am more sensitive to them so freakin fix them. ugh.

Here's a great article from another site I'm on, lots of useful info - Palpitations and Your Period http://www.skippinghearts.com/articles/palpitations-period-pvc-menstruation/  if the link doesn't work, just google skipping hearts forum; the article is on the front page

I suffer severe endometriosis & adenomyosis as well as arrhythmia's and found some very valuable info in here, as well as followup reading on the research done and articles at the bottom of the page.

It's true - "The medical community just collectively pats women on the head, says “everything will be ok,” then sends them on their way."  I would find another EP and see if another ablation is right for you.

I have the same exact problem myself.  I am sitting here at work right now wondering why in the hell this happens during my period.  I had talked to my cardio about it and he said that there really hasn't been enough studies to warrant the hormone relation to the pvc's frequency, but,  as many times as I have seen this same exact scenario on this forum makes me believe why waste money on a study when the facts are right here!  I know it is very scary - I panic to the point sometimes when I have 2 in a row I get flush, lightheaded and my hear will pound afterwards, but,  I like to think that is just me freaking out and nothing else.  I do worry also because my cholesterol is a little elevated and I think about that factor as well. But, all in all,  In regards to the menstration - and also indigesion - they are very much so related - how can they not be - the proof is on the forum.
