Just had a mass found

I just found out yesterday that a 3-7 cm mass was found on my liver. An ultrasound picked up the image. I will now go in for a ct scan. I am wondering, does anyone have other symptoms besides the pain below th rib cage and such? I do have that, but I also seem to be very tired, somewhat light headed, I havent seen much talked about these, so thought I woulkd ask. I try not to freak myself out, but it's nice to hear about what others are going through. Thanks, Lisa

I am a 51 year old man. I weighed 185 since I was 18. A few years ago I went to my former Doctor. I liked him but he seemed stressed each time I saw him. I learned to make money they pack them in. I'm refering to patients. It seemed they were rushed in and out. The 25 pounds gained was never discussed. I frient told me about her doctor who like all the otheres in that practice were all Internest. They are much more knowledgeable than MD's. They all listen and do not rush. They have a plan and follow it to either eliminated it or pinpoint the problem and put the next step in action. Years of my former doctor listened but had no plan. Within a month I was diagnosed with liver problems and ascites. A ultrasound showed a mass. A subsequent MRI shwed none.I guess what I am saying is think about what your look for in a family doctor and if you are not 100% happy with the one you have, talk to people, use online services until you find one who meets your criteria. After all it is 100% of your life why settle for someone who dosen't share that same persentage. If you have an insurance that allows you to skip your primaty care giver go straight to the specialist. I hope this has helped somebody. Good Luck and God Bless.

I also had a mass on my right abdomen. It was a tight, wrap-around and very full sensation. It wrapped slightly around my back and then inward by the liver and slanted down towards my pelvis. It bothered me for many years but I was always told that CT scans showed nothing except some liver nodules which apparently don't mean anything. I did have pain- especially in the lower right abdomen/pelvis for many years.

It wasn't until nearly 25 years later when I was finally able to obtain an MRI from a chiropractor that a mass was seen. It turned out to be a large abdominal lipoma which I finally had removed last year. It definitely felt good to get rid of it but unfortunately I also have a lot of adhesions from surgeries I had (myomectomy/ hysterectomy) which did nothing to help so I still have to live with those. They interfere with digestion quite a bit and I also might have SIBO due to them. I was also told that the lipoma 'could' come back. They are usually benign but can cause discomfort.

Did they say what the mass was or don't they know yet.

My mom is 86 and always been in good health..now she had pain in right side right below ribs, finally went to dr. had ultrasound then CT scan...they found a 2" mass in liver upper part, and several small ones.  She goes in Monday for a biopsy.   Im worried about cancer...but with her health being so good and no history of cancer in her blood lines , Im wondering if i can be hopeful they are benign.   Life is so weird sometimes.

Hi, I have been dealing with this mass on the posterior right lobe since Feb 2011. It was found when I went for a CT scan for something else.
My blood work is crazy all over the board. I have no antibodies for Hep B so we started the vaccines however had an allergic reaction & cant finish.
I have had 3 biopsies and all are inconculsive on what this mass is.
It is growing. I have had MRIs CT Scans, RBC tagged liver scan. I am now being told be surgeons to wait it out.Cancer runs high in my family. Drs cant say 100% if it is malignent or not. One dr is worried about rupture while the other isnt...I am on the search myself. I have been told about the possibility of Birth control causing these masses. So frustrating...Sorry for the long post

I was diagnosed a couple of weeks ago with a fist size mass in the upper right of liver.  No pain associated with it other than extreme indigestion and reflux.  Blood test showed markers as negative (so I figure that's good news) I'm 61 years old.  Have had the EGD, CT scan and ultrasound.  Local specialist is now sending me to IU Med Center to a liver specialist, then biopsy and ?????
Keep me informed on how you are doing.  I'm also searching the web.
