Could it be Anxiety, Stress, Tension or Depression?

Hello Dr. H.H.H. & the MedHelp family
Can't say how greatful i am for your contribution on this site.
My situation is very serious in terms of my potential risk and my symptoms. Approximately 57 days ago (September 20,2011), i've had unprotected vaginal sex with a friend of mine. Before the act, she said, she was ok when questioned about her STD status.

All was good untill a few days later when i had abdominal pain after eating a meal. I think this happened in the same week or the following week after the encounter. I went straight to the net and started searching for symptoms of HIV including other STDs. That's when things have gotten worst. I've had a rapid test (Ora-Quick) done in the second week which was negative and seeing that made me feel great after. Never done a rapid test before so i went searching the net for the credibility of that type of test. Symptoms emerge again.
I timidly asked her to do a test for me which she agreed on. She told me the day she went and test and said she is awaiting the results and that would be in 3 days time. In 3 days time she sent a message on my phone that said, 'thanks for not believing in me.....its negative and you can relax your mind".
Trust me, the way i felt hearing that, i started to sweat. I sent her a reply stating that i'm happy to hear that news, but i would feel better if i could see the result. To my surprize, no response from her. I called her number, no answer for 3 days. One day while driving home i saw her, so i stopped at her feet and ask if she was ok?
She said, "yes". I had company in the car so i couln't have ask her anything about our problem. I called her later in the afternoon and she answered. Her reason for not answering my calls or sending back a message was because i didn't believe in her, the fact that she said her test was negative and i asked to see the result. She said she didn't want to talk to me at that time. Still havent seen her result.

I've done three (3) other testing after the first....HIV 1/2 ELISA- 4weeks after, hepatitis B- 6 weeks after and the most recent, SD HIV 1/2 3.0- 8 weeks......all negatives. On my last testing, i've had a peaceful night's rest. The day after, i've had the best day since, no symtoms. I went to visit a friend in the night and she mentioned something about her not being able to see properly. Thats when i feel the symptoms coming back because i know i'm having blurred visions at time.

I'm approaching 7 to 8 weeks of terrifying of symptoms and everyday i search the net to see if they all point to HIV.
These symptoms includes;
* abdominal pain ans gas movement- on & off
* diarrhea- for weeks- ( much better now)
* joint pains- (stopped)
* nausea- for a few days- (stopped)
* frequent urination- (stopped)
* skin changes on hands- (still present)
* itching
* tingling sensation in feet- (on and off)
* headaches-(on and off for about a week)
* blurred vision
* tenderness in the tip of the fingers- (stopped in the 2nd week)

Doctor H.H.H and others, can these symptoms be as a result of anxiety, stress, depression, tension, etc? These symptoms seems as if there is no end to their existence. This is affecting my everydday life. I'm drawn back in everything i do. I'm now waiting to be tested in a months time. I know this will be the longest month in my life. The girl with whom i had the unprotected sex with said, "she will come and get tested with me next time around".

Thanks for reading my long episode and i crave your response.

Hi everyone, just giving an update of my concerns above.
At 9.5 weeks i did HIV ELISA, VDRL, CBC and a week after, stool culture and a ultrasoud.....all were NEGATIVE. Even at this point i though that something was going on (HIV), trust me. I'm still having some abdominal discomfort and pain in my left shoulder joint but now i think its just from the stress i've pu myself through. Look at the amount of symptoms i've experenced over the weeks, who wouldn't be conclusive? I did a HIV test today at 88 day after my exposure....NEGATIVE. The Internet helped me but it also caused me to acqu ire several of the symptoms i've experienced. I couldn't resist the internet and i must thank this site for comforting me through my time stress. VERY GOOD SITE here. This incident has caused me to take a check on my life. To others out there who are in similar situations, just test at the appropriate time and rely/trust on your reults.

First off, Dr. HHH will not reply, you need to pay to post in the expert forum for that.

I won't post a long response because I don't think one is warranted.  Looking at your list of symptoms and that fact that most of them have gone away, I can say with a high degree of certainty that you do not have an STD.  You do not exhibit any penile issues, and the other issues are questionable and do not suggest any STD.  Your friend is most likely upset that you do not believe her, hence she didn't show you the results and didn't speak to you for a while.  You can be confident that her test results were negative if she is speaking to you again.  I doubt she would test positive for HIV or anything else and then try to lie, while still maiantaining a friendship with you, konwing that you also would be getting tested also.  Try to relax.
