most times in certain tests the test creates a false positive for hsv type 2 because of the high numerical value of hsv type 1but what if your negative for hsv type 1 what could be the reason for a false positive then,

It also depends on what kind of test was used.

There aren't really false positive ranges.  There are some that are equivocal or indterminate.  There aren't really tests that are only confirmatory tests  - all can be used for diagnosing herpes.  Some people retake the test because they don't want to believe it, and others have low enough numbers and no symptoms and take another test just to confirm.

No test is 100% accurate.

What was your result?  And why are you thinking yours is a false positive?  Did you have an IgG or IgM test?

I can help you more if you give me some more info.

yea, because of many different factors; but if its unusual, then why would there be a false positive range and all sorts of confirmatory tests

Its very unusual to have a false positive on a herpes blood test, especially if you have a higher number.

Why do you think that yours is a false pos?
