Gas Pains in upper right thigh?

I am a 43 y/o female.  I was diagnosed a few years back with IBS.  I also have GERD and a small hiatel hernia (sp?).  My gall-bladder was removed 6 years ago, the same year I also had a total hysterectomy9lost my ovaries) Over the last 6 months or so, I have developed gas pains in my upper right thigh.  I know it is gas - it is relieved by passing gas after pushing on it or by a bowel movement.  Sometimes, it becomes hard to walk if the pain is too bad - especially after eating.

Is this possible - or am I crazy? ---- to have gas in the upper thigh?  Why has this gas symptom suddenly appear out of no-where and now is a regular problem?   What can I do to relieve or even prevent it?   GERD meds give me diahrrea.  Is there anything else I can do?

I need to go see my gastronologist about this.

Please advise.

Sorry, I cannot help, but I can tell you that I am a 70 yr. old woman with no gallbladder and have the same problem.  It started a long time after I had the gallbladder removed, so it's hard for me to think they are related.  I sometimes got these pains in the lower back, but did not see any other signs that may have been the kidneys - now I experience it in my right groin and a bit into the leg.  The pain causes me to limp at times.  Putting manual pressure on the areas that hurt cause burping and some diminishing of pain.  Moving around also seems to cause the burping and pain relief.

Since the pain is worse after I've been still for a period, I have taken to go on walks, about a mile, each morning - this helps a great deal.

I just can't figure out how gas is escaping my digestive tract to travel elsewhere in the body.  If there was a leak you'd think you'd have much more severe problems.
