I am just ending my 5 month accutane cycle. In the last month of my treatment, my hair freaked out a bit. I usually had straight hair with a tiny amount of curling around my temples when it got longer (it is usually half an inch short of my eye brows at longest length). However, it has now turned frizzy kinky curly everywhere and i have one big wave going through my hair that i cant controlControl Control rx. I assume that this has something to do with the dryness of my hair due to accutane. has anyone found a solution to this problem?
Accutane can do that. I have very thick long hair and after 5 months I started lossing my hair. I mean clumps of hair falling out. I have been off Accutane for 5 weeks now and its still falling out. Just one of the many side affects
Accutane works by shrinking the sebaceous glands. This can also effect the hair follicle and occasionally patients notice a change to their hair (including alopecia or, more rarely, an increase of hair growth).
Accutane can stay in your body for up to 5 weeks after your last dose. After this time side effects attributable to the drug should no longer be present.
