Accutane & pregnancy

Please try to read my story before you judge me and if you dont have information that ypu are willi g to share about my situation then please just leave this thread alone.  I am asking you for this, not because i cant handle a litttle rough nasty names thrown about me, but because I have serious issues right now and I am at the end of my rope.  I hav eeven contemplated suiciude.  SO, just facts please.
I was taking Accutane for 2 months - 60 mg, although during that time there were changes in my dosages to less because I lost some of the medication and couldnt get more. So, when I ran out I stopped taking them  --- one week later I had sex with a man.  It was really brief...he started to go and I said not without a condom and he kept going and I said not without a condom and so finally he pulled out. I am not on birth control either.
Now that happened Thanksgiving night the 24th.  I usually get my period the first of every month but I never got it that November.  I hadnt slerpt with anyone during that time so I wasnt worried.  So now November ends and December begins and still no period.  I am a recovering addict trying to get my life under control.  I dont know what to do,  Does the fact that I stopped the Accutane a week before we slept together help the situation? And keep in mind, it may not even be pregnancy.  Not have my period for close to two  montths has never happened to me and that first month I was celibate and still didnt get it.  The second month I make this one mistake and bam! still not getting period.  I heel humiiated, angry and like I want to die.  I know how careless and stupid I was. I actually knew that way before this current fisaco.  If anyone has any info to share I would appreciate it
Oh also - a week after thksvng (when I had sex) I took a home preg test because it was in a sense late and that came out negative.  But I mean it was only a week --black

Hi,
You should really go see your doctor and have him test to see if you are pregnant.  You might not be but you should really find out.  I don't want to scare you and I am sure you know all the risks and side effects of accutane and pregnancy.  Being off of it for 1 week is not long enough to be out of your system.

Just see your doctor you may be stressing for nothing.  I really wish you the best, and don't ever think your life isn't worth something because it is!  Everything will be ok!

Sincerely,
Renea

I'm glad to hear you are not pregnant. My advice for others in your situation is:
All female patients must use two forms of birth control (combined oral contraceptive pill and condom) whilst on Accutane and for 5 weeks after stopping, regardless of their dosage or length of treatment. Accutane can cause serious malformations in exposed pregnancies, even in tiny amounts. An estimated 90% of all exposed pregnancies are effected.
If you miss a period or have unprotected sex whilst on Accutane, take no further tablets and inform your prescriber at once. If you are pregnant you may be refered to a specialist in birth defects and will be offered a termination.
I don't judge anyone. My pregnancy was unplanned, although fortunately I was not taking medication at the time. I wasn't even having periods at the time of conception and didn't know I was pregnant for 18 and a half weeks. So please if you are taking Accutane or any other medication contraindicated in pregnancy, please use two methods of contraception.
Blackendbeauty, you say you are recovering from an addiction, which may have affected your menstrual cycle. Accutane can also cause menstrual irregularities in some women. This is why it is essential to take the pill so you have your period regularly, and get the monthly pregnancy tests required whilst on Accutane.
How is your skin now?
Eloise.
