I am a 25 year old male. I used to have very oily skin and had constant breakouts. I ended up taking accutane a few years ago to finally get rid of my acne because i had tried every other option and it did not work. I took 80 mg/per day for 6 months. I have been off accutane for 2 years now and my skin no longer has breakouts at all. Although, i now have very dry skin and absolutely no oil production anywhere in my body. On my faceFace pain, my pores are very visible all over my cheeks and seem to have gotten bigger post-accutane. They almost look like scars because the skin is so dry. I still get the red flushing in my faceFace pain also after any activity. SO, my question is whether i will ever get my oily skin, or atleast some oil production back because quite frankly i rather have it than my current condition. I am getting pessimistic at this point because it has been 2 years and my skin is still dry. Thanks and please let me know what you think.
Hi. Accutane shrinks the sebaceousBirthmarks - pigmented Hair follicle sebaceous gland Sebaceous cyst glands which then grow back very very slowly. The rate at which they grow back will vary between patients, but the idea is that by the time they grow back to their normal size you will have outgrown your tendency to acne.
There are lots of good products for dry and red skin. I recommend Eucerin Redness Relief, Clinique Redness Solutions and Rosaliac by La Roche-Posay. Bathe in Oiltrum bath oil.
