It would seem to me that it would be helpful to detox with the help of a non using friend... or someone who has done this and is in recovery... Ha Ha... I can not believe I am going to date myself.. but in the old days we would help people kick in our homes.. it wasn't pretty but neither was their addiction. The lengths they were willing to go to in order to get that next fix.... we helped keep them hydrated.. changed sheets from the toxins seeping out...held their head while they sipped fluids... Helped with baths and hygiene in general... took days. But when they came around and we would see that first flicker of a smile, some life back in those dark eyes...It was so worth it......Playing with fire just a tad because we were not doctors just another Recovering Addict... Thats How It Works.
Hang in there wean yourself off i was doing 20 norcos 10s a day. and screwed up and got on methadone. beleive me you dont want to go that route. ask anyone trying to get off methadone.
Hey...you did great realizing that taking those 3 pills was a set back. You got this....keep up the good work. You didn't go for more pills, you realized what you did and now you move forward. I say, good job!
2 days clean again.. Seems my 1 day set back didn't have too much of a negative effect. (knock on wood)... Tossing and turning all night is still the biggest problem.. Thanks everyone for the kind words.
It's ok..did you delete the number? You can do it.
just wanted to lend my support....i was on pain pills for many many years....this site is an awesome place for support and info! just keep posting and we will help you any way we can.....good luck and let us know how you are doing!
First if all you have a wonderful opportunity to start your life over again with 2 weeks off of work, take advantage of that. Next, just remember that day 3 is notoriously the day you will relapse...just try to make it through...I'm not saying it gets much easier after that but you will have gotten over that first hump. It is amazing how much courage and pride you feel the longer you go without those terrible pills...you can do it! Just stick to it and keep going...you haven't been on pills very long so it should be a little easier to get beyond this. I have been on pain pills for 13 years...20 to 30 a day...it can be done no matter what stage you are at. Be positive, let people in to help you and ask for help from those you never thought to ask such as a doctor or hospital and it can be done....make this YOUR year....it can be done! Good luck....
