Thank you guys & gals for your quick response. Ive been in and out of AA for close to 29 years, with lots of clean time, so I"m no stranger to addiction. I have to admit that these pills have really thrown me into a tail spin. I"m a retired Firefighter now a Truck driver with random testing, Even though I have A legit script from my Doc it could still be a problem because of the DOT regulations. I have an appointment with my Doc on the 14 which I plan to be honest with him about my drug use which is twice what he precribed. I guess the question I have is do Doctors just really want to help addicts? He seems to be a decent man and I hope I can relay to him whats happing as easy as it is to you wonderful people. God Bless SWkip 59
Tapering can be done, its about obsession and are you an addict. Think about giving a crack smoker a rock and telling him to just smoke half today and half tomorrow,,,aint gonna happen. Rather you can do it is a decision only you can answer and maybe even you cant answer that until you try. There are certain things that can help you do this and folks here will tell you about them
Take your time and look thru all the posts here....there are people doing the 'impossible' 30-40 hydro's a day and then stopping. Obviously you need to educate yourself about all the possibilities and traps in stopping....but if you really want to...this is the place to get started.......
Yes you can taper off, it is not easy and you should probably have someone to hold the pills for you. There are many people here with very good taper plans. I'm sure one will respond soon. I am a cold turkey girl so don't know much about taper. Keep reading all you can on this forum. You will get so much helpful information. Congrat's on wanting to get clean. Mary
