Cracked after 3.5 days ...

So, three or four days of c/t, and I cracked -- did 30mg (about 1/3 of usual).

I'm feeling normal now, but what can of worms have I opened now?

I've never jumped back in like that, but the long nights of misery were just too much ...

If I were you I would stock up on benzos and anything else you can get to help you sleep. I basically went cold turkey and ive been clean from opiates for almost a month now. But I firmly believe I would have for sure relapsed around the same time you did if I did not ease my withdrawal with lots of ketamine, xanax, soma, and weed. Ketamine is like a miracle drug for opiate withdrawals in my opinion. They are even beginning to recognize ketamines usefullness in opiate and alcohol withdrawal in the scientific community.

But of course you have to WANT to quit for it to work. These past 25 days ive been clean from opiates ive had a small little stash of oxycodone, hydromorphone, and oxymorphone sitting in plain view (not even in a medicine bottle) on my nightstand and I have had little to no cravings for opiates. Even while knowing I can prepare a nice line of oxy at any time I want. Its all about your mental attitude. You really have to be ready to do anything to not fall back into that cycle again. And contrary to what ive seen several people post on here, the withdrawals were MUCH harder for me to deal with than the cravings/PAWS.

Im not trying to encourage you to do anything you feel is wrong, im just sharing my experience withdrawing this past month and how ive dealt with it. I have never gotten past 6 days without opiates since I started taking lorcets 6 years ago, until now.

Trust me it happens to alot of people, actually the majority of people struggle in some fashion or the other. Tommorrow is a new day and thats how you have to take it, day by day. Im assuming you were doing oxy's which is a tough one to kick, espcially for the first 3-5days are the worst. I can tell you from my experience almost all of the physical symptoms had subsided right around a weeks time. The couple lingering affects always seemed to be fatigue, trouble sleeping and sometimes a little depression/anxiety issues. Just like the above posts dont let this get the best of you, its just time to re-dedicate yourself and make that internal commitment that your going to do whatever it takes. Dont think just because you've slipped up after 3days that you now have to start using again, look at it for what it is, a speed bumb in the grand scheme of things. The thing I can promise you is that if you do start dabbling in an on and off manner that you will quickly become re-addicted(dependent) upon the pills. Ive detoxed off opiates 7times in my life and everytime before I slipped back into addiciton I thought I had control. I would use for 1-3days then not for a week or two, then it became 4-5days with some time off, but in the end I was never even close to having an ounce of control over the end result. I now know for sure that I can never again even be around opiates of any kind, theres just way too much temptation for me. So try to keep a positive attitude about your recovery, different degrees of relapses happen to something like 90% of people with addiction. What ever your supplier of the pills is whether doctor or friend, you need to disconnect with those people. Also get rid of any remaining pills you may have, having pills or the phone #'s of those with pills will only make the process that much harder to deal with. So my best advice is to wake up tommorrow and once again go for it, what do you have to lose, trust me after about 5days of sickness things become much more bearable. I wish you the best of luck, dont ever give up, we are all capable of beating this  disease, it just takes alot of strength and the willingness to work for your sobriety, its not something that comes or stays with ease. Again dont give up, best of luck, in the words of NIKE.....just do it!

Ditto. This is really hard. But one of these times it will work. I've seen you on other posts being so strong for everyone else so I know you know the way. Those forks in the road don't all lead to dead ends.  When I got my son through a REALLY bad oxy addiction Hypnotherapy did work to make using repulsive while he went through other stuff to detox. I would suggest that you consider looking into that. Just google."Hypnosis for opiate detox" and find someone with extensive experience in opiate addiction specifically. They don't have to be in your area, this can be done over the phone. There are differeent certified levels, read up on them and use your knowledge. I also can't stress enough to understand opiate addiction so you know why this is so hard. You'll get there. Try to stay holistic as much as possibe. Using different drugs to battle drug addiction is the same boat with a new name, as I say.

Pick yourself up and start over.......Dont let this one time take you back to using again.  The can of worms get to be real big and bad then.  Getting clean is tough, no doubt about it......You come back fighting for you and your life cuz that is what it boils down to.  You are important and worth it.   I have said this in other posts but we just buried 2 people in one week here from drug addiction.....it is a matter of life and death.  Fight with everything you have....you can do this.  Lean on us here and we will help you.   sara

Hi Kevin, so sorry to hear that, I’ve wondered the same, if I was to fall back, but it hasn't happened to me.  Do we end up at square one?
I’m sure someone will respond soon, It's gotta happen alot, since we all have such difficulty with detoxing.
I hope you can jump back on the band wagon.  I wish you the best.
So if you made 3.5 days, you can do it again…… keep reading here about other peep's successes here.
