Finally ready to quit it all

Hi.  I've been taking 4ativans when I go to bed, also I take approx. 70  norcos
50. 7.5 for four days then go to 10s twenty of those for 3 days  been doing this
For a few years I am prescribed fifty 7.5s a week also 30 .05 Ativan a week.
Oh my goodness I honestly want to taper down and not cold turkey. Today is my first day without
Ativan and have had five 10 mg. norco thru out today. I get my refills Tom. Doc. Has me pic. Up scrips. For both once a week ( 50/7.5) and then I get  twenty tens on Monday from my mothe- in -law. I can't figure out how to taper off especially. Right now with no Ativan, it's been hairy started last night.

Kat, you seem really knowledgeable about addiction, that's cool. I'm so glad you mentioned going back to AA. I just came from my meeting, and lemme tell ya, I do something in there that I had completely forgotten about..laugh! You probably know there is lots of humor in the rooms. That seems like a weird, random thing to say, but I just wanted to remind you that it isn't drudgery. We get to connect w/ other addict/alcoholics and laugh at ourselves while staying clean.

I hear your anger and frustration, I totally get it. But now you are looking for the solution, so no need to bash yourself!! Keep moving forward and keep posting on here!

I have read post about Thomas recipe do you know where I can look this up on here?  I will keep you in my prayers!!!!  So glad I found this forum it really helps to talk about this!

Welcome to the community! I'm new here too. I'm about to cold turkey off of 300mg or so of oxycontin per day, and about 20-30 Norcos a day depending on how much oxy i have in stock. My doc cut me back from 180 Norcos per month to 60 IR oxycodones..and i'm already having a rough enough time with  that!

That is where I met my mother- in - law bf. She became my mother- in- law.

I get fifty 7.5 weekly and then twenty 10s from my mother-in-law I took my last Ativan last night and am praying I'll be ok until I talk to doc. Tom. I pick up scrips. I can't believe I got caught up in this secret bs again.  I have been reading post about tapering down I do have someone to help. The thought of cold turkey makes me want to scream I can't believe I did this again and will have to cut all ties with my mother- in-law FOR SURE! She also sells her axanax to a girl in her late twenties a SAD SITUATION TO SEE LET ALONE KNOW ABOUT!!  My mother- in- law is a drug pusher and manipulates and dangles pills over your head...  HONESTLY I THINK IM HAPPIER KNOWING I WONT BE SUCKING UP TO HER BS ANY LONGER  THIS REALLY IS MY OWN FAULT.

Hi there. Welcome. I didn't understand what you wrote about the amount of norcos. What is 70 norcos 50? Do you mean you get 70? Well, doesn't really matter, point is you wanna quit. For norco: Just about all of us on here tried w/ our best intentions to taper, we couldn't do it, we're addicts. I would suggest just go cold turkey. Little know fact: you CANNOT escape ct no matter what. Even is you can taper, which is unlikely, you will just feel symptoms for a longer period of time. If you wanna be successful, do NOT pick up that script. You will just continue this even though you "promise yourself" you won't. We all know that game, we've done it.

Cut all your sources. Dr, street etc. Look up Thomas recipe on here and get what it says. Most importantly, get to aftercare (meetings etc.) After removing the drugs, our addict brain are alive and well and need serious attention. This is vital to STAYING clean and sane.

As for the ativan, since that is a benzo, it can be very dangerous (seizures) to stop ct. I would be 100% honest w/ dr bout it.

Also, your mother-in-law has ZERO business giving you opiates. Stop that immediately. You must cut ALL sources.
